A statement from Microsoft.. Ransomware attack targeted Ukraine and Poland
The company "Microsoft" said in a blog on Friday that a newly discovered hacking group attacked transportation and logistics companies in Ukraine and Poland with a new type of ransomware, according to a report by Reuters.
The attackers targeted a wide range of systems within an hour on Tuesday, Microsoft said, adding that it had not been able to link the attacks to any known group so far.
However, the researchers discovered that the hacks closely resembled earlier attempts to disrupt Ukrainian government entities by a cyber team connected to the Russian government.
Ukraine has been the target of numerous cyberattacks by Russia since the conflict began in late February, according to Western security researchers and senior government officials.
The Russian Embassy in Washington did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Reuters, as did the cybersecurity agencies of Ukraine and Poland.

Microsoft said that the victims of the new ransomware, called "Prestige", overlap with the victims of another cyber attack targeting data, which included the deployment of the malicious program "foxload" or "hermetic Webber".
The attack infected hundreds of computers in Ukraine, Lithuania and Latvia at the beginning of Russia's war on Ukraine.
Microsoft said that the "prestige" ransomware works by encrypting the victims ' data, leaving a ransom note stating that the data lock can be unlocked only by purchasing a decryption tool.
In many cases, the researchers noted that hackers had gained control of the victims ' System Administrator's permissions before the ransomware was deployed, indicating that they had stolen their credentials earlier and were waiting for the right moment.
And in another news Qatar's National Cybersecurity Agency has warned of a high-risk security vulnerability in the Google Chrome browser.

Google confirmed the news on the official Chrome browser blog, noting that the errors affect the versions of Chrome that run on the operating systems Windows,"Mac OS" and Linux .
Google released an updated Chrome version (Chrome 106.0.5249.119) to combat threats, and asked browser users around the world to make an urgent update, after Google reported finding 6 "high" security bugs.
